"Judges" + Marriage

First of all...Why is is that I can vote..and then a "Judge" turns around and slaps me in the face and tells me is doesn't count? And then decides to "flip it"? Is this justice? I thought my vote counted. I would like to believe that when I vote it COUNTED along with thousands of others who took the time to go to the polls and mark their choice.
I have been and will be a volunteer at the polls this election coming up in Nov. Do you realize how much is involved? Do you know I am not allowed at anytime to see your vote? Do you know that when we take the ballots to a designated area at the late hours of the night, that there are armed guards to protect us and the ballots we cast? Do you know of the time that is taken to protect our vote?
So much for the judges who decided our votes don't count.
How many times will (or already has) this happen to us? to me?
What about the people? What about you? What about in the future?
Are some people so blind, that before we know it, we won't be able to even say what we think? Will our Constitutional RIGHTS become our "wrongs". The average guy, the majority, will have to hide behind closed doors?
Enough of the ranting.
I am married and have 6 children. I have 2 grandchildren, with 2 on the way. This is wonderful for me.
What I want to say is "THANK YOU" to my husband. I know that HE was/is wonderful to my son. They understand each other. I don't cuz I'm a girl. lol Some things are just better between a couple of guys who can grunt as a communication.
I know that I was/is wonderful to my 5 girls. We PMS together, we're on the same cycle, we analyze, shop together, critique, laugh and talk way too much, and know how to "froo-froo".
Our family has taken a man and a woman. Single parents know this in general how hard it is to lead alone. Heavenly Father knows this. Our genders are important and we are meant to be together as husband and wife.
So, I am for a marriage between a man and a woman.
It has worked-out perfectly for our FAMILY. Yes, there are times I have told my friend, "When I die, I'm coming back as a man." ONLY a joke on a frustrating day.
One knows the innate differences between men and women. That's why we have boyfriends and girlfriends. We all "exchange" ideas about life, love and happiness. But, a marriage is a balance between a MAN and a WOMAN. Children NEED a man and a woman, to be a husband and wife, and work in concert rearing their children.
I empathize with those who are in love with the same gender. I know it's a tender and sincere love. I know it must be so difficult to admit out loud the first time as to just "who" they are.
I have things that are difficult for me. I'm fat...among other things. I have fought obesity since my first child. It is with me every second of every day. Have I faced discrimination? YES!!! Kids at school have teased my very own children, too. (You know who you are) Is it easy to "fix"? Can it even be "fixed"?
To me, it is an insurmountable condition. ONLY one cannot HIDE obesity. It is out there for all of the world to see...I don't even have to SAY anything for people "to know".
However, everyone on this earth has "something". That is my belief. We all are different w/different circumstances.
I vote YES on Proposition 8. Will my vote count this time? I guess the "JUDGES" will have to have it on their desk again. I sure hope they get the message. Pickle

Mormons

I am a conservative, it's true. As crazy as I am, I can say that. So, I hope that today after the announcement of Mitt Romney's suspending his campaign, by his own choosing (or number crunching)...people can see what he's made of. He is a normal member of the human race. He has his views that are vibrant and truthful. And in my opinion, correct. Now I know that we are all different, hopefully so. But, I believe that Romney's religion was really a factor in his running and finally leaving the campaign. I think that a lot of people have no idea what a Mormon is and believes. I believe that others have "dissed" the Mormon religion to the extent that they will not even TRY to understand it's basic beliefs...and become very intolerant of the difference. I find this so sad ...the intolerance of others. There is no discussion, no compassion...just don't even mention it.
I am a Mormon. I don't think of myself as a cult member. I choose for myself. And, I chose for myself to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am saddened that there cannot really be a seperation of Church and State in this world. And, I'm sure that goes for debate too.
I guess my point is, is that Romney didn't possibly get a number of votes because he's Mormon. Now that the public has heard what he believes for our country, maybe we can all see where he stands and what an honorable man he is. He has standards, morals and civic responsibility. He's a respected man to many. Now, perhaps, people can see that being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a beacon in the night. Being a member of that faith is a treasure. Perhaps that is one of Mitt Romney's roles in life.
I am proud of my faith. It is the way I live. I don't just "talk the talk". I walk the walk. I am far from perfect...as my family knows. But, the testimony I hold is strong. And, I know that Mitt Romney feels the same about his testimony.
May we as a country, be strong and tolerant of one another. We all are different. But, we can certainly work together and pray together as a country...and with one another.
